Hello, I'm Roee Arkin
the man looking for the magic along the way

There are places in this country we all drive past — but only when you actually stop do you find the story, the people, the landscape and the magic hiding in them.

I'm Roee Arkin, a licensed tour guide and the owner of MagicIL.

My love of travelling and guiding started from something simple: to show people the beauty we have here, to let them discover this country again, and to connect them to it through a real experience.

Because Israel isn't only sites and views. Israel is stories, flavours, people, and small moments that turn a memory into an experience.

Every group is a world of its own

To me, anyone who sets out with me isn't "another group". For a few hours we become one family. I believe a good experience starts with personal attention, with listening, and with the ability to see the people behind the group — children, families, colleagues or friends.

I don't turn up to stand in front of you and deliver a lecture. I turn up to be part of the experience. My language is plain, accessible and at eye level. I like taking knowledge, stories and history and turning them into something interesting, moving and genuinely enjoyable for everyone.

Safety, professionalism and a human connection

Above all, I make sure you feel safe. Safety and responsibility are my compass on every trip, activity or event I lead. Only when people feel comfortable and in good hands can they really enjoy themselves, laugh, connect and create memories.

But alongside the professionalism, the human connection matters to me just as much. Because in the end, people don't only remember which route we walked. They remember how they felt along the way.

Believing in people, opening up possibilities

One of the things that guides me is seeing what each person is capable of, rather than only their limitations.

On a trip in the Judean Desert with a school group, I met a girl of small stature who had to take on a demanding route at Tzuk Tamrur and Ein Bokek. Instead of seeing a difficulty, we chose to see an ability. Together with her teacher we believed in her, we let her lead — and she walked at the head of the group and finished the route successfully.

That moment reminded me again why I do what I do: because sometimes a trip is far more than the place you arrive at. It's the way we discover something new about ourselves.

Kesem evenings: a small light that makes a big experience

Out of that same love of the outdoors and of people came the lantern evening: a distinctive experience of walking by lantern light, with nature, stories and a connection between people. I believe each one of us is a small point of light, and when we come together we shine a great deal more.

It isn't another activity to get through, and it isn't an impersonal event. It's a warm, real, family experience where you stop the rush for a moment, get outdoors, and simply let yourselves be together.
